HTWO Solution

Global Energy
Transition Leader

The hydrogen society is no longer a distant vision but a tangible reality, rapidly taking shape through continuous innovation in the hydrogen industry.
Hyundai Motor Group is proud to be a pioneer, leading advancements and driving this transition.

We are more committed than ever to pushing the boundaries of innovation and introducing new technologies that enhance our lives,
and this is our progress for humanity through hydrogen.

1 Hydrogen
Production

W2H - Waste to Hydrogen, P2H - Plastic to Hydrogen W2H - Waste to Hydrogen, P2H - Plastic to Hydrogen

Hyundai Motor Group has developed pioneering methods to convert bio waste and plastic waste into hydrogen. They yield clean hydrogen while also effectively providing disposal solutions for waste resources, thus creating a double positive effect.

Additionally, through electrolysis technology, we can utilize renewable energy to produce high-purity hydrogen.

2 Port & Airport
Decarbonization

Ports and airports, as industrial hubs with heavy machinery operations, are significant contributors to air pollution due to their reliance on fossil fuels. To mitigate these emissions, transitioning to clean hydrogen-based solutions can be efficient. By establishing a stable hydrogen fuel supply system and replacing fossil fuel-dependent equipment with hydrogen fuel cell vehicles machinery, we can significantly reduce carbon emissions in these critical logistics centers.

The ports of California in the United States are being developed as a hydrogen logistics hubs, with several government-led business underway to integrate hydrogen energy system. Hyundai Motor Company was chosen as the official supplier for the ‘NorCAL Zero-Emission with Fuel Cell Electric Trucks business’ and successfully deployed 30 XCIENT trucks in September 2023. This marks the largest single fleet deployment of Heavy-Duty Fuel Cell trucks in North America, replacing high-emission trucks to transport containers and vehicles at the Ports of Oakland.

Airport Decarbonization

We aim to broaden our port decarbonization efforts globally, extending from cargo ports and marine ports to even airports.

Hyundai Motor Company and Incheon International Airport Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2024 to collaborate on the airport’s digital transformation through future mobility innovation. To do this, we are implementing a hydrogen energy system across the Incheon International Airport by expanding hydrogen infrastructure, utilizing hydrogen trucks and forklifts for logistics, and adding hydrogen fuel cell electric buses for shuttle services.

3 Clean Logistics

We are also implementing clean logistics business operations in the state of Georgia, where we have constructed the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America(HMGMA), the Group’s first dedicated electric vehicle mass-production plant. Together with GLOVIS America, we have created a joint venture for HTWO Logistics, through which we will establish an end-to-end hydrogen value chain aimed at reducing carbon emissions from inbound and outbound transportation around the new production facility.

By leveraging Hyundai Motor Company’s hydrogen fuel cell truck technology and Hyundai Glovis’s logistics expertise, the Group aims to expand sustainable clean logistics business models across the U.S. and contribute to decarbonizing the logistics industry through further expansion into domestic and global markets.

4 Fuel Cell System
Lineup Expansion

Fuel Cell System current lineup 100kW, Fuel cell Powerpack current lineup 30kW, 50kW

HTWO fuel cell system is the driving force behind Hyundai’s pioneering efforts and global leadership in advancing the hydrogen industry. We are expanding the scope of our solutions with a diverse lineup of fuel cell systems, ranging from power generation equipment and construction machinery to aviation and marine transportation.
